Jeff Schmidt
Vice President, Owner & Project Manager
Jeff is a skilled carpenter and nephew of Steve Schmidt. He lives in Northfield with his two children, Caleb and Nora. Jeff is a graduate of Southeast Technical College in Red Wing, MN and has worked with Schmidt Construction for over 10 years. Solving a variety of problems, working on a multitude of projects and spending time with the crew is why Jeff likes what he does. Not only an avid golfer and 1st baseman, Jeff also enjoys the finer things in life like bow hunting, fishing and coaching his son’s basketball team.
Steve Schmidt
President & Owner of Schmidt Homes, Inc.
Steve founded the company in 1981. He serves in an advisory position for all new residential and commercial construction. Born in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, Steve graduated from Northfield High School and attended South Central College. He and his wife Lori have three children: Mary, Tom, and Tim, and 6 grandchildren.
Steve enjoys bicycling, running, skiing, fishing, and golfing. He attends Twins games with his family and is a frequent visitor to the Boundary Waters. Steve has been extensively involved with local and national charities, including the United Way, and he currently serves on the board of South Central College.
Chad LaCanne
Project Supervisor
Chad has been with Schmidt Homes since 2019 when he signed on as our Framing Supervisor. Previously he was an independent contractor until we managed to convince him to join our team. He soon moved up the ranks to Project Supervisor. He and his wife live in Apple Valley with their two children, a girl and a boy, whom he coaches in hockey and softball. He loves fishing, hiking, traveling and enjoys being with his family.
Nichole Ingemann

Julie Sunsdahl
Accountant
Julie brings 25+ years accounting experience to her role as accountant for Schmidt Homes. She has 4 sons, 4 grandchildren and 2 dogs. Julie has a variety of interests from crafting to owning a 1976 Chevy Nova show car named Nora.
Linda Schwamb
Marketing & Administration
Linda came out of retirement in 2019 as an executive administrative assistant to save our sanity. With a certification in all things Microsoft and a passion for organization, she is helping us get our business in tip top shape. From marketing & advertising to building our new website, Linda picks up and takes care of it all.
When she is not in the office Linda is snowshoeing, gardening with her husband, knitting beautiful sweaters,and carving out quality time with her eight grandchildren.
